Ratio is an old platform engine example that I programmed in 2009. While it has a poor basic engine (suffering from the same faults that Hindsight suffered from), it still can help those who are new to GML. It includes a few types of weapons that can be picked up and dropped, a couple types of enemies, and shows a way to use views. I may get around to updating this eventually, but honestly I would just suggest you find a better example or tutorial on TIGSource.
